2012-07-31 Trip to Canada
We had a wonderful trip to Nova Scotia this summer. First we stayed with Wade and Sheila at their cottage in Egerton. We also had a great home-cooked meal at Aunt Gertrude's and Aunt Helen's house, went to McLellans Cemetery to see our ancestor's graves, Pictou where the Scots first arrived in NS, and Antigonish for the Clan Donald Awards Banquet (lobster dinner!). Then we went to Kentville to stay with Barry and Florence for a couple of days. While there, Barry and Florence took us for a wonderful scenic tour of the 'Valley', Hall's Harbor, Grand Pre, and several other beautiful places. Then, we picked the biggest blueberries I have ever seen, and visited a cheese factory. It was simply a great trip, and we really enjoyed getting together with all the relatives.

8x10, Pictou harbour with the replica of the ship Hector which is very similar to the Sarah which brought our MacDonalds from Scotland to Pictou in 1803.
