4-64th Military Ball, 6 March 2009 : This was the last Military Ball for the 4-64th Armored Regiment. The unit is being deactivated and all members are being reassigned to other units. The 4-64th has served with distinction since WWII and most recently on multiple combat tours in Iraq.

CPT Matthew Freeman, Fallen Hero : Hundreds of people, young and old, lined the streets of Richmond Hill today, August 12, 2009, to honor and remember Marine Captain Matthew Freeman, who was killed in action in Afghanistan on August 7, 2009 while participating in Operation Enduring Freedom. As the funeral procession slowly made its way through the streets, the crowds solemnly waved flags, many with tears in their eyes. The air was filled with a strange mixture of sadness, grief, pride, memories, and overflowing patriotism, mixed with anger and stern determination. It was never more clear that freedom is not free. Matthew, you will not be forgotten.
